BEVERLY GROVE 🐻 THE BEAR POP-UP
Mr. Beef, the iconic Italian beef shop that inspired The Bear, returns to Los Angeles for a weekend takeover at Uncle Paulie’s Deli next Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Expect dipped sandwiches, homemade giardiniera, and a cameo by Mr. Beef’s Chris Zucchero and The Bear’s culinary director Courtney Storer, who’ll also be scooping her Italian ice. First come, first served and a reminder that this pop-up sold out last year.
VENICE 🐠 KASSI CLUB
Kassi Club is the newest rooftop restaurant from the team behind Élephante and Belles Beach House, now open atop Hotel Erwin in Venice. The concept brings back the original Kassi’s Greek-inspired menu with a beachside LA twist, offering shareable plates like spanakopita quesadillas, zucchini chips, and lamb meatball skewers. With ocean views, striped umbrellas, and breezy design, Kassi Club feels like a Mykonos escape just steps from the Venice Boardwalk.

Miznon is now open inside Grand Central Market serving fluffy pitas stuffed with ribeye, cheeseburgers, falafel, and roasted cauliflower. The Tel Aviv import brings a fast and flavorful lunch with counter seating, loud energy, and plenty of tahini.

A proposed 571-unit townhome development next to Morningside High School would bring new housing and community amenities to a 23-acre site near SoFi Stadium. Designed by Danielian & Associates, the project includes row and interlocking townhomes, pools, parks, and clubhouses, with 10% of homes reserved for very low-income households. If approved, construction would span five phases from 2025 to 2029.
ARTS DISTRICT 🏡 220 APARTMENTS PROPOSED
A proposed eight story development on East 5th Street would replace three warehouses with 220 live work units, over 46,000 square feet of commercial space, and three levels of underground parking. About 11% of units would be set aside for very low income households under Transit Oriented Communities incentives. Designed by HansonLA and developed by Maxxam Enterprises, the project has received key entitlements and remains under active review.

Jorge Soler’s two-run homer in the eighth helped the Angels beat Texas 11-8 yesterday. Mike Trout hit two homers, including a go-ahead shot in the fifth.
