WEATHER FORECAST 🏖 SEVEN-DAY OUTLOOK
This week along the coast, expect low clouds and fog in the evenings and mornings as a gentle high-pressure system brings calm and mild weather. Offshore waters will see stronger northwest winds and waves between three and six feet, prompting small craft advisories through midweek. Air quality is generally moderate, good for most people, though those with sensitivities should consider limiting time outdoors. Overall, mornings may start gray with fog, but clear into sunny afternoons with temperatures climbing from the mid 70s to low 80s.

SAN BERNARDINO ✈ FLYING PARAMEDICS
San Bernardino County firefighters are exploring a futuristic approach to rural emergency response using the Helix, a lightweight electric aircraft capable of vertical takeoff, water landings, and short-distance medical deployment. Privately owned by retired paramedic Tim Lum and developed by Palo Alto-based Pivotal, the eVTOL aircraft was showcased at a county fire camp to demonstrate its potential to bypass terrain and traffic delays. Though currently limited in range and capacity, officials are testing both real flight and VR simulations as part of early training efforts to address critical gaps in lifesaving response times across the nation’s largest county.

LOS ANGELES 🎞 LOCAL INDUSTRY
Los Angeles is seeing early signs of recovery in its film and television job market following the expansion of California’s production tax credit. The increase from 330mn to 750mn dollars has already sparked new projects and hiring, with over 6,500 cast and crew roles and tens of thousands of background performer days expected. While the industry is still far from regaining the 40 percent job loss since 2022, the move signals a renewed effort to keep jobs in California and rebuild the local entertainment workforce.

DODGERS 🧢 TRAVEL TO ROCKIES
After a high-scoring homestand with 61 runs but just two stolen bases, the Dodgers open a road series Tuesday night at Coors Field against the Rockies, facing Germán Márquez at 5:40pm. Despite ranking below league average in steals with 44 on the season, Shohei Ohtani still leads the team with 11 swipes, though he hasn’t attempted one since May 23rd. The Rockies have allowed 80 stolen bases this year, and Márquez alone has given up 16, making this series a chance for LA to test the basepaths.

ANGELS ⚾ HOSTING BOSTON
The Los Angeles Angels host the Boston Red Sox Tuesday night at Angel Stadium looking to strengthen their hold in the season series, currently leading 3-1. Despite a 38-40 overall record and several key injuries including Jorge Soler and Yoan Moncada, the Angels have shown resilience with solid recent performances from hitters like Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel. Pitching will be tested as Tyler Anderson (2-5, 4.56 ERA) faces off against Red Sox starter Garrett Crochet (7-4, 2.20 ERA). The Angels aim to capitalize on home-field advantage and their seventh-ranked slugging percentage to build momentum against a Red Sox team trying to snap a three-game losing streak.
