🍟 RESTAURANT OPENINGS

WEST HOLLYWOOD 🍔 TESLA DINER

  • Tesla’s long-awaited retro futuristic diner has officially opened on Santa Monica Boulevard, drawing a crowd outside the former Shakey’s location that now houses a 24 hour Apple store–meets–Tomorrowland–style eatery and Supercharger station. Operated by longtime LA restaurateur Bill Chait with a menu led by chef Eric Greenspan, the project included design oversight from Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen and introduced digital ordering that syncs with driver proximity. The two level space features robot bartenders, massive outdoor movie screens, and capacity to serve up to 2,500 people a day.

UNIVERSAL CITYWALK 🐷 MR. BBQ

  • Mr. BBQ, the acclaimed all you can eat Korean barbecue spot from Fullerton, is expanding to Universal CityWalk next year, taking over the former Johnny Rockets space. Mr. BBQ is celebrated for its bold flavors and family-run ethos, the new location will feature a first of its kind grill system from Korea and a menu designed for international parkgoers. This marks the third location for the brand, following its Las Vegas debut in 2023.

ARTS DISTRICT 🍵 DAMO

  • Damo has expanded from Koreatown to a new Arts District location on Palmetto Street, bringing its signature matcha lattes, einspänners, tonics, financiers, and Korean tea snacks to a bright, industrial loft space with white brick walls, stone counters, wood accents, and potted greenery. The new café offers more room to lounge, making it a calm, spacious retreat for tea lovers in the neighborhood.
