SATURDAY: The 22nd annual TARFEST returns to Pan Pacific Park tomorrow from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a free one day music and arts festival curated by LAUNCH LA and Azul Amaral. MALIBU 📹 SPEED CAMERAS
Malibu is considering a Speed Safety Program that would install up to five automated speed cameras and speed feedback signs along Pacific Coast Highway to promote safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Mayor Marianne Riggins highlighted the goal of reducing speeding and reckless driving. State Senator Ben Allen sponsored the legislation supporting the program. The city council is accepting community feedback on the draft policy and impact report through July 18th, with documents and comment options available online.
BURBANK ⚽ 26 CHAMPIONS GRANT
The City of Burbank has been named one of 26 recipients of the 26 Champions Grant from the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee and Play Equity Fund, recognizing its standout Powerchair Soccer program and commitment to inclusive recreation. Burbank’s Parks and Recreation Department will receive $26,000 and be featured in promotional content celebrating programs that use soccer to promote equity and community ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

DOWNTOWN LA 🏡 BLOOM ON THIRD
Bloom on Third, a new eight story mixed use project from Holland Partner Group on W 3rd Street near The Grove, is progressing toward a 2026 completion with exterior finishes now in place and the tower crane removed. The development will include 311 residential units above 84,000 square feet of commercial space reportedly anchored by Whole Foods, with nearly 1,000 parking spaces in a podium garage. Designed by MVE + Partners, the project incorporates setbacks, courtyards, and amenity decks to soften its scale and provide outdoor space, particularly in relation to the nearby elementary school.
SANTA MONICA 🎡 RETAIL RENOVATION
Tova Capital, in partnership with Shopton Capital, acquired a 7,500-square-foot freestanding retail building at Wilshire and Lincoln Boulevards in downtown Santa Monica for $5.5m. The single-story property, built in 1981 and situated on a 15,000-square-foot corner lot with surface parking, benefits from high daily traffic exposure and is currently 40% leased. With over 2,300 multifamily units underway and new retail leases fueling a downtown resurgence, Tova plans upgrades to stabilize the asset while pursuing similar Southern California opportunities.

Canada’s cult-favorite Asian grocery chain T&T Supermarket is expanding again, announcing a Chino Hills location set to open fall 2026 on Peyton Drive. Known for Beijing duck, hot pot chips, chilled seafood, and Taiwanese-style rice rolls, T&T blends the scale of 99 Ranch with the cultural fanfare of H-Mart.
